New Neuro Physiotherapy Service with Caroline Farrow

I have enjoyed working in the NHS as a physiotherapist for the last 9 years and have spent the last 7 years specialising in neurology. I’ve worked with a wide range of neurological conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, spinal cord injury and brain tumour patients, amongst other conditions.

Having completed a masters module in The Evidence Base for Neurological Rehabilitation in 2014, I continue to take an evidence based approach. As a member of both the Chartered Society for Physiotherapists and ACPIN, I maintain a keen interest in the most up to date literature and progressions in neurological physiotherapy.

My postgraduate study has included courses in spasticity, stroke rehabilitation, MS, neuroplasticity, upper limb rehab and vestibular rehabilitation. As a neuro- Pilates instructor I run weekly classes and one-to-one sessions within the NHS with excellent patient outcomes.

Having worked with patients with neurological conditions for many years, I understand the challenges that are faced. I appreciate the need for, and always offer, an empathetic and understanding approach, building strong working partnerships with my patients and their families. We work together to set goals, overcome challenges and increase activity levels. My aim is always to provide patients with the support, education and tools they need to manage their condition, achieve the best possible outcomes and exceed their goals.

Having played netball at county level for many years, as well as completing the odd triathlon and half marathon  in  my time, I enjoy keeping active. However these days, as a mum to 2 young children, its more bike rides and running around the park!
